Yeast temperature shock

Hello all,
Yesterday i attempted to get my 3rd gen mcrum off but nothing. In the first gen I added 2 tablespoon tomatoe paste + epsoms salt. so nutrients should not be the issue.
I also add one crushed vit B tablet to every gen.
PH 4.5.
I just sprinkled a little more lowans yeast on the wash this morning and wham bam, thankyou maam we are off to the races.
The only explanation I can come up with for this happening is that when i have my lee's sitting in the fermenter with a few litres of water on top its probably only around 15-20 degress.
Then I add the water/molasses/sugar at around 30-35 degress. Usually i pour it all in in one big hit. I'm thinking that this thermal shock on the yeast could be killing it?
I also had the same problem with my bwko on the 5th gen.
Thoughts?
Cheers

See if you can adjust the pH back up to about 5 next time.
That should help the yeast.
