Yeast Question

Postby vk4akp » Wed Feb 01, 2012 6:13 pm

Hi, unless anyone can point me in the right direction for better products & pricing I'm about to order the following online tonight from Enoltech Australia.

Mycoferm CRU 69 Yeast - 500g (= $48.95) Y12 - <18% Alcohol tolerance, 8-34 deg C Temp range, Osmotolerant -
http://www.enoltech.com.au/images/stories/downloads/MYCOFERM%20CRU%2069_ENG.pdf
Biocibus Gold 1Kg (= $38.28)
Diammonium Phosphate (D.A.P.) 5Kg (= $43.84)
French Oak Shavings (Un-Toasted) 5Kg (= $30.00)
Freaight (=$27.50)

Total $184.21

The yeast is a similar product to what I had ordered some 6+ Years ago and have assumed that by now has lost it's viability.
I tried the old yeast 2 weeks ago and only got 1/4 the yield alcohol from the wash that I used to get when I first bought the yeast back in 2006.
I assume the old Biocibus (yeast food / husks) & DAP from 2006 is no good now also?

Any comments on this appreciated.
