Brewers yeast overload??

Hi all.
Into my second year of distilling and found brewers yeast at the local veggie shop, so next TPW in go's 56 grams to my 20 litres as normal but nothing happened, a little research and found out it's not like normal yeast so in go's 56 grams of my normal yeast and off it go's but will it be any good with the brewers yeast as well? 56 grams of it anyway, I know with beer it would ruin it but no idea with distilling, I read that if brewers yeast is not activated before going in it will do nothing which I'm fine with but will it ruin the wash is my question?
Thanks from Mick

I may be wrong but I think you’ll find what you had is a dead batch that’s used in making biscuits as a health food type of thing.
In essence it’s a dead yeast that’s used as protein or something

Your active yeast should eat it.

had to go look this up, can you use brewers yeast? you would think so.... but...
"The simple answer is "maybe". If it has not been heat treated or otherwise sterilised, it may be used to brew. However "nutritional supplements" are often sterilised so it may be difficult to tell unless clearly stated. Even when not sterilised, if it is old stock it may not be sufficiently active to form a vigorous starter culture. Try some out by mixing/shaking in a clear jar/bottle with some sugar and some tepid/warm water. If the stuff is foaming well after a few hours then it probably could be used to brew"

From what I read yes Stig it does seem to be a thing like a vitimin B pill some add to the wash, it mentions vitimin B on the packet.

Hoping it will eat it up Al, also hoping someone else might know from experience whether or not to just tip it or carry on, if there's any chance it's stuffed ill dump it and start fresh. Live and learn is right.

Thanks guys.

No point dumping it, always worth running it through the still after it's finished. Getting good alcohol out of it will be the only test that matters.

Make good cuts, be patient and store in appropriate vessels and this hobby is pretty damn forgiving.
