Good to be back in the saddle, now to make up for the time I was away.

I wasn't sure if the VodkaStar was any good being 5 months out of date, but also because I wasn't seeing anything through the airlock. I have 2x 30L fermenters, and I think the lids may be matched to the fermenter, either that or one of my lids is slightly twisted, because once I swapped them over, I immediately had bubbling through the airlock. When I first used both of these, I washed them both out, and left them outside for weeks with the lids off, so they probably got mixed up. Its now bubbling away very well so I guess the VodkaStar is fine after all, but its still too early to tell if it will ferment all the way out without getting stuck.

Although I doubt the lids are matched, I also doubt that one of the lids is twisted, so this might be something for people to remember if you are having problems and have more than one fermenter.

no actually, its about the same, even though, its only 6kgs sugar for vodka star, 8kgs for A48...

im just wondering if in theory anyting could be wrong with the still, even though the process has not changed...
it is literally dripping out slower
