Safspirits Distillers Yeast

Postby Hill » Fri Oct 19, 2012 1:41 pm

I got a 500g block of Safspirits Fruit yeast for nothing for my local brew shop, but it expired in march this year.

Can anyone see a problem in using it?

If Yes any Ideas on what type of product I should look at making?

I reckon it'll still be viable.
At the very least you might have to make a starter to build up numbers (coz at least *some* will still be alive) - but i've read people have yeast well expired that's fine.
cupcake has an example of well old yeast

it's a slightly better price than others charge for old stock :laughing-rolling:

Would probably be fine for neutrals & rum :handgestures-thumbupleft:
