Howdy,

just used the same method of yeast slops/lees from 3 x rum washes works the same as prior post, a yeast bomb start, into new fermenters and away it goes. Second gen take off much faster btw.

Just for you rum heads,

Applied the same method, yeast bomb, no change in concept, to a gen2 rum on lager yeast. Same again showed little activity in jar as a bomb but has taken off really well.

So for winter for rums...leave the bastards somewhere semi chilly(7 - 15c) and let the lager yeast work it's slower but tasty magic... reckon over past 400lt of washes prolly saved $80 - $100 bucks in heating cost and have another 8 weeks min of savings to go!
