Howdy,

Here's original post bout SaflagerS23 being a dud for a heavy rum wash...

House mate goes "F that $22 worth of yeast be buggered!" ..got the pH meter on it etc tweaked it for a day with bicarb etc and finally got all three washes to start...some 2 days later.

So S23 does work for rum but geez it's a slow start. Persistence pays I guess, all happy spitting out foam through the airlock.

Want to capture this yeast as its conditioned and re pitch for second gens...might well avoid the slow starts.
