Fining agents

I know that some people have strong views about the use of these, I don't wish to get in to a debate about them. Just if you want to know more then here you go:

Interesting read....I guess that's the answer to why there are two parts to the "turbo clear" sold by HBS. The first must be a negative charge and the second a positive charge. Always wondered that ;-)

I have used something very similar in commercial aquariums. Large fish tend to make large messes, and fining makes siphoning debris much easier.
The only reason I mention it is the safety aspect. If fish survive with it in their environment, i'm sure people will do just fine with it in their hootch.
