Pipe Mitre's and how to work them out. HELP

Could someone help me here. I want to mitre three 50mm pipes on three axises, Like making a corner of a box out of pipe. I looked at some pipe joining freeware, but they all run on Windows and I don't (OSX). What I need is the a template of the cuts to make the joints, but I don't know the methodology to work them out.

I don't think there is a joiner to do this job. I am after a clean and simple look, so I want neat joins. A simple clean look IMHO normally means lots of extra work. GOOGE: The pipe program you have Linked to only works on Windows computers (and not mine :angry-banghead: )

Are you brazing it together?. Shouldnt be hard to get the joins right, its only 2 45 angles on the radis arms and 2 45 angles on the main arm?. Dont have a mitre box or saw?, guess not if your asking the question lol.

Googe: yes well that easily said and done with square tube. A little more to it with round tube, I think. A= mitre box no. A square yes

I can suggest a method, but it isnt the true geometrical approach your after.

First, mitre two pieces, as per a normal mitre,
Second, take a holesaw and notch the 3rd piece in from both angles, same as the mitre, but only half way through the 3rd tube. File or grind to finnish.
I've used this method on ute trays with 3" pipe and it looks neat, but there is usually one "long" side, so it makes the joint look nice. But I don't think it will be what youre looking for.

You could do a trial and error approach, if you could use a mitre or drop saw. use some cheap mild steel for the mock up, keep adjusting and cutting and mocking up till you get the angle, then make a template off the sample once you have it right.

Thanks guys, I think I am making this too hard. I have decided to make one pipe larger and bring the other two smaller pipes into the side of the capped end larger pipe.
