Anyone want to take a pic of their elements wiring. Im pretty sure ive figured out the details, just wanna make sure. 105v until the 16mm gland then 90v.

Here's a new version that's a little simpler & cheaper to put together :handgestures-thumbupleft:

2 X 50mm caps + 60mm of 50mm pipe + 2 rivets + a cable gland = $12 :happy-partydance:

Hi Macstill, I'm in WA and currently building my still, will be looking to grab 3 elements off you in the not too distant future, just wondering where you get your 50mm end caps from, it seems you can find them for a lot cheaper than I can.

Any newbies that want to make these "I MUST STRESS" you need to earth your cord to the guard for this to be safe :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Hey Mac how do you screw in or unscrew your element? It looks like you have the hex of the element inside enclosure which is riveted closed

Using this method you screw the element in first then wire it up, then you enclose the connections with the rivets :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I was hoping to use the same elements on my boiler as well as my brew pot. guess I should go for the guards on your website. how much is shipping to sydney for 2 guards?

When we have them in stock shipping is $15 express or around $10 for snail mail, new stock should be available in about 3 weeks.

I dont know what's going on with these FSD guards, I think people are collecting them as we cannot ever seem to order enough ;-)

On a slightly related note, how long are people making the power cord for their elements?

long enough to reach the ground or a good 2m or so to plug into the wall/contorller?

Ideally you want as short as possible to the power outlet. But if you don't have the luxury of different circuit outlets you will need to use an extension cord anyway.
