Mac, im hoping to knock something like this up on my keg boiler, i have two of your weldless elements. can you tell me if the thread on the element is 1 inch bsp please? if so, could i just substitute the nut for a stainless socket and do away with needing to weld the socket to the keg? ie just tighten it up as if it were the nut with the silicone ring inside the boiler?

Hey mate the thread is 1" BSP, I dont see why your suggestion wont work ;-)

Thread is BSPT, not BSPP.

when it's only 3 threads long, it probably doesn't matter a stuff if it's tapered or parallel. the silicon seal will seal her up :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Hi Mac,

Would a 50mm length of 50mm pipe be long enough for the body of the guard?
It's all I've got and scrappies in my area are loath to sell copper.
