Ok so today i was at the camping shop filling my 2 45kg bottles and had a brain storm.
I went to the car got me blue bottle of propane took it in to the shop and asked old mate if he had a hose and fitting to fit the burner on the small bottle.
Surprisingly he did and it worked like a treat.
Below are some pictures that should be pritty self explanatory.
So i will leave the rest to your imagination.

Blokes,

can I just clarify you mean the cylinders filled where 4.5kg ones not 45kg?

I suspect and have read here somewhere that LPG/Propane guns can be used on 4.5kg or smaller but on larger cylinders require a variable pressure reg to used.

Now I have half an Idea about Lecky stuff but is all this gas fudging safe ?

Is it Ok to run Propane gadgets on LP ?

Is it OK to try and fill a Small Propane bottle off a LP bottle ?

Gas shit scares me as much as Lecky stuff scares others .

Having had a Mapp torch develop a serious leak and thought about the consequences ,bit nervous now.

Good point...

The safest line is don't mix and match clearly and we all know that.

Given the Berzo torch is a variable valve type and cylinder is no larger than 4.5kg it's been used successfully by many not just here but commercially by medical gas/pipe fitters etc for years.

Personally I cheat a lot... I use bowser LPG for a car decanted to a bottle to avoid costs...like about -60% it's also way hotter ...but I've been well organised by a gas guru and certainly would not recommend it unless you clearly understand the differences in the fuels and the risks and have access to the same guru type to advise and setup.
This ain't straight forward like connecting a braided hose and opening the valve.

Also plenty of safety gear helps when dealing with any gas regardless.

well that is good news!

and may dispel the regulator requirement issue.

Drunk can I ask does the valve on the torch require smaller adjustments or lower settings due to pressure in the larger bottles compared with the berzo small cylinders?
No issue here just want to clarify if the larger cylinder has an effect.

I went to the promise site and searched the part number, the description says that the hose is used for running the stoves, water heaters
"Removes need to connect to disposable cartridge
Connects Buddy (MH9BX) heater direct to external POL cylinders
Can be used to connect other BOM fitting appliances to external cylinders"

OK im gona stop every one in there tracks right now. Im not saying to go fill your bottles up at the servo because that miight could be very bad. How ever what i have shown in the pics at the top of this page is fine and safe to use. How ever if you do some how get your self blown up well stiff tittys its not on my hands you fudged it some how :handgestures-thumbdown:.
You do not need a regerlator for resons I am not going to explain because Im a very dyslexic fuck who can never get my words to sound the way i want.
IMAG0212.jpg

You can see there is no reg in picture.

That is the 8.5kg bottle prity common on the BBQ

All I am trying to do is help people save some cash and do it in a safe way.
