Been playing in the shed this avo and built my first parrot. So pleased with it I had to show you a pic.

It's the culmination of a couple of weeks reading these forums, building up enough courage to walk into the local plumbing supplies and try to explain what I want, and learning to soft solder.

In the end it was all fairly painless, except when I wasn't watching what I was doing and touched the something hot.

It was a great little project that taught me a fair bit. Wouldn't have been able to do it without all the contributions from you guys so thanks a bunch.

- 300mm x 25mm copper pipe
- 2 x 25mm to 50mm reducers
- 1 x 25mm to 12mm reducer

Method
File out the ridge in one of the 25mm to 50mm reducers do the 25mm tube slips through snugly

Drill a hole in the base of this same reducer for the out flow tube.

Dill a hole in the bottom of the 25mm tube for the intake.

Mess around a bit bending the intake pipe until you get a shape you like

Measure the depth of the 25mm tube against your alcoholometer. (You don't want to have to drop it in, but it needs to be deep enough to cover it.

Solder it all up, learning and burning yourself as you go.

I have drilled a 30mm hole in the wooden block and she sits in there lovely.

But how the hell did you buy 300mm of pipe from a plumbing supply store?? Normally you're lucky if you can buy a meter! Or you bought a meter, but are just listing what you used?

At most good plumbing supply joints, we can only get 6m lengths. Reece will sell you just about anything for the deed to your house too...

My plumb joint will sell.bits from.there scrap bin Brendan. Didn't know till one day I was after 1meter of 3' , didn't have any in stick so he said do you need a full meter, I said no, he said ok I'll go look in the scrap bin, and had a.short length.

I just went in and ask for it. They didnt seem to mind until the busted their pipe cutter on it and then had to find a hacksaw. Maybe they wont do it again.
