Complete wash plumbing

I've started to realize that i need a better way to fill, drain, and move liquids.

Would a few of you more experienced blokes or ladies might like to share how you have that setup. I presume a pump might be involved but i'd also like to know how you go about cleaning the system too.

Thanks

They work but are not self priming and can be a bit of a pain. I have one but will be looking at something else for the longer term

Can you give us a bit more information about your system and what exactly you want to move where?

Do you have a HLT and a mash Tun? Or just the mashtun? If your doing all grain like scotch a pump is fine if your usng a false bottom but you don't want to run a corn mash through a pump.

Cleaning is relatively easy, disconnect your hoses and hose out your vessels and hoses. Or soak them in PBW overnight then rinse.

Everything I have is in 60ltr fermenters. I can run a hose to the boiler but then she needs to get emptied with some going to waste water and the rest going back in for a second gen

I have a stainless sanitary self priming pump I use for everything from moving wash to emptying my boiler, it was expensive but worth every cent for hassle free pumping and ease of cleaning.

It's the one on the FSD slideshow here http://www.5stardistilling.net/ :handgestures-thumbupleft:

They look the goods and if they are self priming I reckon they would be worth some extra coin. :handgestures-thumbupleft: :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I've got a kaixen pump, it's sorta like a march pump. It's okay but it gives me the shits trying to prime it when moving washes and stuff. I thought about trying to put one of those priming bulbs from the marine store
One of macs pumps sounds better though

if you could do them for under $200, that'd beat out the Chugger and March pumps

Yeah mate they're a bit big for the average home distiller, but they'll empty a 30L fermenter in about 7 seconds :))
