Hi Guys,

After some advice on what brand / type of hole saw to use to drill my stainless keg.

I had a hole saw set here at home, not sure on the brand - assume it was a cheap one. However, this size was the first time of being used. It has just destroyed the hole saw, without actually doing more then scratching the keg.

I was using a lubricant too.

you'll need to get an arbor for it, though

Its technique too.
Stainless steel work hardens very quickly. You need to run your drill slow and use heaps of pressure. You want to make sure that the teeth are cutting all the time. Dont let them rub on the job HSS or Bi-metal saw rather than high carbon steel. Ideally you want to use a high sulphur oil, (dark cutting fluid). Trefolex make a hand tapping paste that recommends not for power machine use, (because the fumes are toxic) but if you do it well ventilated and slow and steady you will be right.
