Custom 100L Boiler

Here's my new boiler almost done, just needs some adjustable feet to get it level and a good clean up :dance:

It's got a sight glass and fill port, as well as 2 x 2200w keg king elements fitted & an 8" neck so I can clean it out.

The floor in my shed is a shocker so things are on a lean a bit, that and the bubbler is just fitted loose.

Yeah ended up doing at home here, place I'd dropped it off too hadnt touched it :angry-banghead:

My step son is a decent welder so I got him to give me a hand, we used a MIG instead of TIG because I cant find the tungsten tips for the TIG :laughing-rolling:

Yeah this will replace my keg boiler for all my stilling, experimenting is continuing slowly with all this building stuff going on.

So glad my boiler is done, now I can finish my VM build :dance:

Just gotta get some pickling paste to clean up the welds and it's ready to use.

may i suggest a short piece of 2" fixed to the plate to act as a shroud to protect the cable connections on the element ;-)
we all know hoe easy they break ;-)

Mac, what is this boiler made from? Something to do with the wine industry?

Yes mate it's made from a 190L wine tank I got from gumtree, I just cut a section out of the middle and welded it back together.

Hi mac still if you dont mind me asking how much did you pay on gumtree? Coz I live country never seem to be in the big smoke when there for sale I seen a couple price seems to vary a bit I seen cheap but it was dinged a far bit cheers mate
