thought I start a thread dedicated to boiler talk
Anyway to kick it off what do ppl think of SS LPG tanks as boilers will clean up , wouldn't risk it , tried it and it was/wasn't any good . just that these things are often very cheap and are often 80+ ltrs sounds tempting

if you are able to find s/s wine storage /fermenter tanks these make great boilers they normaly come in a size of 1750 mm x 460mm so you could cut them in half and just weld flat plate to the bottom and then you would have 2 boilers out off the one tank. good if ya can go halves in one then the the cost would be a bit more acceptable. cost of these range a bit from$150 to $500 that ive seen on gumtree this is like mine was before i cut it down

Meet Bertha, she is 90L, an EX-LPG tank, cleaned and cleaned and cleaned.

Go her off ebay for $30 so worth spending 1/2 a day cleaning,

use drain cleaner / sodium hydroxide...

Bugger a whole gas converion kit just ended with an 80 ltr tank for around $1.50 thought of a use for the gas fill valve to :shhh: your a dodgy cunt crow

Ok after a bit of consensus on fores cuts for a larger boiler. I know there are lots of variables :roll: just wondering how much ppl running 18 gal boilers normally put aside as fores

i use a 100 ltr boiler with about 85/90 ltrs in it (approx 22 gallons)Slightly bigger than 18G. I take the first 500mls, Based on my 25ltr boiler which rekns 65ml fores scales up to about 260mls based on the theory of it scaling evenly??. I just doubled it to be sure cause if its not fores its skanky heads anyway.. I use this for stripping and spirit runs.
