How many watts to run a 4 Inch?

I'm building a 50 L keg boiler and want to know if one 3600 element is enough to run a 4 inch pot still and a 4 inch VM? Can I run a 3600 watt element with a voltage controler from a standard power point or would it be better to run two 2400 watt elements with their own voltage controlers from separate power points? Any feedback would be appreciated.

3600w, just.
better with 2 x 2400.
you need seperate circuts, not just seperate power points.

Plug a radio into different power points and flick circut breakers/fuses in the main swichboard (usually the meter box) until you hear the radio quit. Find two sperate circuts this way

Why not start with a 2" column?

or use gas. I have to use gas as the very limited power in my house as they have dodged it up. I was going to put a 40A dedicated circuit to the shed but I want to move the shed so that is a waste of money lol. Although the new shed will have it or more if I can run it, but think the electrician said if I go bigger I need bigger wire and will cost heaps more.

Edit: that 40A will have 3 circuits, 2 power 1 light but light is only 5A or less I think

Just make sure you got the grunt to run it before you make it.

3" is always an option.

a well made 3" VM will produce up to 5 litres per hour of azeotrope in the right hands :handgestures-thumbupleft:

1 x 3600w works quite well without a controller, or you could use 2 x 2400w and have a controller hooked up to one of them :handgestures-thumbupleft:

.... and what's all this what not about what?
