Got 2 kegs need help with getting the top or spear out. Been fucking around with it for abit now and giving me the shits. I was hoping to remove the iner shit befor i start cutting with the grinder.

Right you're gunna need a 23mm open ender and a sharp 2mm drill bit for starters,you go find them and I'll find the link that you'll need :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Those circlip's are a pain in the ass, I broke two drill bits trying to make a hole in it (note to self buy more drill bits, SHARP ones) in the end I used one of the broken drill bits which by some miracle bit down on the circlip and pulled it out enough for me to fit a small flat screwdriver between the gap, after that it was smooth sailing.

ok I have been looking over the forum trying to fined the type of keg that I have but with no luck yet. It seems we are missing a few pics from some of the posts so I might be asking a question that has been asked befor.

I have 4 of this type of kegs that i need to remove the tube from. I dont want to cut them up as i want to use them for storage.


It looks like the top might screew of but its hard to tell and I realy dont wantto just go and take a pot shot at it and end up buggering some thing or making my job harder.

They are the normal style kegs these days.

Use a socket or a screw driver to push down on the rubber seal. That will release pressure. One of those T bar sockets is good. Put a towel over top to stop a face full of beer.

Then you just need to get a knife or screw driver to remove the black seal. It will be a bitch sometimes. After that is gone, there will be a little metal clip holding in a spring, remove the clip with a screwdriver (a lot of jiggling and moving about) and the spring will come loose.

Use a pipe wrench to grab the inside and outside rim and start turning. Some will be easier than others.

Tip the keg on its side then sit on it as you work to avoid the face full of beer.

that last one looks like a screw off job but i could be wrong, get the stillsons out.

Cut the rubber, drop the centre and it'll just unscrew out :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Just don't have your head over it when the spring lets go :violence-smack:

You can get a punch or a chisel in that little hole and smack it with a knockometer to undo it as well :handgestures-thumbupleft:
