What's people opinion, is a 4" fill port worth the extra coin or is 3" more than enough?

Can't get me forearm in a 3" fill port for scrubbing.... :-B

Hmmmmm, I do plan on fitting a 4" fitting to the top of the keg in the future, just not now as I have only got a 2" still. Can you fit a 4" ferrule for your still to mount on and a 4" fill port easy enough on a 50L Keg, or is it a bit tight?

Do you want a fill port or a cleaning port? This is the question you have to decide on...a fill port could be the old 2" you removed for your keg...I have a 3" fill port on my keg but I also have a 4" main port to connect my Still to and it doubles for a cleaning port. :think:

Go the 4", less spillage when you're hefting a heavy fermenter in.

i wish i could get my forearm in a 4" ... its frustrating !

I turned my keg upside down and used the existing 2 inch opening as my drain. I cut a 6 inch hole in the other end and welded a 6 inch triclover ferrule on it. Made a plate to fit on top of the 6 inch ferrule and had a 2 inch ferrule welded to the plate. Makes it super easy to get your arm in that 6 inch hole to clean/fill.

Now that's genius.
