Converting a boiler from 80lt to 100lt

Postby JayD » Tue Sep 03, 2013 8:10 pm

Hey,
I would like to introduce you to my brand new Boiler, Milton the converted keg from a 18gal keg and half of a 50lt so will hold 100lts of wash...

Here are the two kegs in the beginning...

Off with their heads...I used a 4" grinder and cutting disc rated for S/S

the new top of the 100lt boiler...

removing the dents from the 18gal keg so it welded up a little easier...it was a bit of a job.

and a look in the dark...

"Six drops of the essence of terror, Five drops of sinister sauce,
When the stirring's done may I lick the spoon?
Of course ha ha of course.
Now for the tincture of tenderness, But I must use only a touch,
For without a touch of tenderness, He might destroy me!
Whoops too much.
"Better hold your breath it's starting to tick"...

anyone remember watching this cartoon ?

"Better hold my hand I'm feeling sick -
Hello Dad!
What have I done?
I'm Milton, Your brand new boiler!"

I've still got to fill some more low spots in the join and dress it up, then give it a light polish but it's near on done...very functionable but it just reminds me of a cartoon I used to watch when I was a youngen...more photos to follow once its polished up, it wont be a silk purse but it will be a 100lt boiler.
