whats sort of cash ya up to on the boiler if ya dont mind me asking
been giving my FSD a good work out lately more than welcome to check it out

Boiler price is a sensitive subject around here! Lol ... I dare not mention it on the rare chance that my partner find out. :laughing-rolling:

Its certainly less than the cost of the 5 Star still...put it all together and I think it's actually quite reasonable to have some solid gear that will stand the test of time.

I just might take you up on that offer to come shadow you on a future run...I reckon it's a good way for me to get up to speed on how things run.

Part of the motivation to get this boiler built the way I am with the extra shine is an aesthetic one...I want the whole thing to flow well. Form and function are coming together nicely IMHO!

Hey guys... I'll look into it and see if I can get the secret technique from my builder.

Just so we are clear...this isn't my build. If you read back a few posts you will find the web link for the builder I've partnered with on this project.

With that being said normally I'd have a go at making my own boiler...but being new in country combined with city apartment living I'm short on space and tools.

All of you who have a shed or garage to kick around in please reflect on how lucky you are!

:D

Don't need one when you can pay to get a keg that shiny :laughing-rolling:

Now what did they use? Just a run of the mill metal polish on a big buffer or.... :wtf:

And what an awesome link it is too :handgestures-thumbupleft: If I was cashed up and wanted some really cool beer gear I'd want to speak to him ^:)^

:text-imwithstupid: We know there is polish and buffing wheels involved  But there are different grades of all these consumables to get and thought if i could get the low down on procedure and grades of compounds and blabla i might be able to save myself some time and money. ;-)

I think you all may find this interesting and helpful regarding polishing kegs.

http://www.suebob.com

From there go to the tab that says "Bobby's junk"... Then "Brewing"... Then under the left section where it says recent articles there's a heading that says "Stainless steel polishing tips"

All done boys! Phase one is complete and the boiler is home safe and sound. I'm really pleased with the quality of work.

Now to start saving for phase two... :happy-partydance:

Haha...phase two is start to put some money away and then make an order from Mac! I had hoped to be able to make the cut off for the sale he's running now...but some other expenses have sprung up. I should be up and running in February 2014 if all goes according to plan. I could do it now...but I'm not keen to borrow money for my pet projects.

I can't wait to get it all put together though! It will be a tower of power! :music-deathmetal:

Phase 2 sounds like a solid plan Tbone with your boiler and a FSD still clamped on top you will have one hell of a hot still.

How about this thread for a gas fired boiler?

Pinned to the first page for the new distillers info?

because the member isnt active at all anymore, and we try to give threads of recognition to our active members..... not that that has worked to well in the past.

I'd rather see people support this thread http://aussiedistiller.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=6324&p=107495#p107495 as a running commentary from start to end.

It's a beautifully presented topic from a newbie, that's just been left to slide through the pages
