Hi All,

Been away from the site for a while and i think back in Jan there was a guy selling Kegs with Conversions, either in Vic or Tas, can anyone put me onto him? He also made Boka's aswell and had some vids up, looks like the site has had a cleanup since i was here last. Can't seem to find him. Cheers All.

Failing that, i'm in the market for a new setup. I havent run anything for 5-10 years so if theres any new latest and greatest im all ears. Looking for a flexible setup to do different washes. Need a Pot and Head

Cheers, Shane.

The bloke you're talking about isn't around any more...

You can get elements through the 5 Star store, and if you want a Bok, Mac will have double reducer LM reflux stills in stock soon.

All good, Found who it was - Still tossing up between a 5 Star and another one, not sure which way to go. I used to distill with my Grandfather who built his own still (was Stolen when he passed away) and we used to make grape or plum "Brandy" I would like to make these aswell as whiskey, Rum and get into Gins so ikm after a versatile setup. Any recommendations?

Cheers, Shane

I'd say the 5 Star is the better choice ;)
Go the modular pot for now and make your rums and brandies, then upgrade to a bubbler once you've got the cash to make gin and vodka (5 plate and packed section) and better rum and brandy (4 plate)
Or if you've got the cash, just go all out and buy a top of the line 5 Star bubbler!

The other bloke doesn't sell stills around here any more mate...

If you want versatility, you want to build or buy a bubbler. Plain and simple.

I went the full setup with a neutraliser on a 50l boiler. I've since bought a carter head still and have a 100l boiler on the way. The gear is certainly 5 Star and the after sales service from Mac goes above and beyond. I've spent a fair bit of cash now and it was worth every cent.

Thanks Paul, cant beat word of mouth from happy customers :handgestures-thumbupleft:

We have boilers on the way in the next 8 weeks or so, 50 & 100L milk cans, 70L, 120L & 230L boilers and a big mother 500L with a 12" Mac 4 SSG on it, but at the rate they're being pre ordered I'll have to do another order next week.

If anyone wants boilers before xmas they best start ordering from us now :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Just a word of caution when discussing Tassie kegs as I'm pretty sure there are no legal kegs available down here.
If you want a legal keg you have to buy it from the mainland.
