100L KEG BOILER

Hey guy l,am getting 2x50L kegs welded together to make a 100L boiler,do people recommend a 3600W element to heat up then a 2400W to keep temp up and where are people putting the elements-side by side, opposite each other, staggered :angry-banghead:

If you have a 15 amp supply for the 3600 w and a separate 10 amp supply for the 2400 what then yes that will work.
The choice of where you put your elements is up to you, since you are extending your boiler I am assuming you won't be running a low wash volume and in that case I would stack the elements just to make it easier to install :handgestures-thumbupleft:

thanks guys just a copper top atm but will be getting a 4inch from FSD to make bourbon soon

No worries, depending on what you get you might want to build a power controller for the elements as well :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I'd put the elements at the back, reduce likelihood of spilling wash/water on them when filling or cleaning and also the cables will be out of the way so less likely to trip up on them.
Are they getting welded top to toe? Might want to consider any height restrictions, my 4in comes in at 2.4m :scared-eek:

Be careful whoever welds it for you, there's some real backyard hacks getting around that are way overpriced..... better off hanging back a month or so until the 100L milk cans I've ordered come in ;-) I'll bet my lefty they'll be better quality & cheaper than the backyarders crappy welding getting around :handgestures-thumbupleft:

The left one is only 30L, not sure bout those yet.... but the middle & right are 50L & 100L or whatever those seppo gallons work out to be :handgestures-thumbupleft:
