A mate helped me with this build.. It’s 620mm diameter by 400mm high, 304 rolled stainless steel pipe 3mm wall thickness, top and bottom are 6mm 304 SS plate. Legs are 1 ½” SS angle line with the top is beveled and a cap welded on. Stainless steel feet ready to have 4” casters attached. 2 x 4” ferrules on top and a 2” ferrule right at the bottom for the drain attachment. Was thinking of 2 x 3600w weldless elements from the 5star store, both mounted about 60mm from the bottom..

Gotta love it when all the bosses go home early.

2x 15A elements sounds good as long as you have 2 separate 15A circuits...

Should have made 2.

Not at this point in time, I got most of what I need for the 3" perf plate build though I've used 4" ferrules on the boiler so anything is possible in the future :))

Started work on the thumper. It's 300mm x 350mm, 304 SS pipe. Got the pipe sorted for the riser and cap, will be a 3" riser with a 4" cap. Downcomer will be 1".
It should hold about 20lt or there abouts taking into acount the riser and what not.
This will be used mostly just for pot stilling with the 4" pot I'm making.
I will be cutting the 4" feral off the top of the boiler and welding on a 6" feral instead to connect the thumper, also cant get my arm through the 4" feral to clean the boiler so it'll be better all round with a 6" feral.

That's a serious thumper mate! You definitely don't do things by halves!

I did with the 3" bubbler, it works great but it's a bit slow, it'll be used just for vodka.
The pot still will be for brown spirits obviously, I will be building another bubbler to go on this boiler too eventually.

Hi Magnus,
My first 2 boilers for my 2" pot were made from the same welded rolled SS pipe and I found on both of them a small pin hole developed after a few runs so it may pay to dye check the seam welds to make sure no cracks or pin holes are in.

Better to be safe than sorry mate

Cheers Bryan
