Copper strap would look even better than brass, if you ask me!

Mmm... Maybe I'll do my boiler the same. Copper or brass strap with SS Allen head screws ^:)^

Where did you get the brass rings from?
Would copper earth strap work? Can get my hands on some atm, don't know what to ever use it for though.

Brass strap a mob here in Tullamarine has stacks of it I got 6 meters 25 mm wide 1 mm thick for $40.00
Also got 200 dome top brass screws coming $30.00
Could have got copper that was $80.00 for 6 meters

Looks awesome how did you anchor it to the boiler? ...Stop the wood slats from sliding? And how did you work out the angle to cut the slats at?

I pulled it so tight with ratchet straps I hope it wont slide fingers crossed
As for the angles they are touching near the boiler
That gives you a nice gap

Was asking Milky the same. Just picked up the same stuff as milky for polishing but for coating im going to use a 2 pack clear coat from bunnings unless i find a cheaper one. Milky mentioned he had a painter spray it in 2 pack in a spray booth.

Wattyl make a product called incralac which i believe works pretty well on brass copper and aloys. Alternatively they make a pretty similar product that come's in a pressure pack and works pretty well! I think it's just called clear lacquer finish.

I'd be worried that it didn't work properly and then I'd have to remove it. I'll stick with the patina look. :handgestures-thumbupleft:
