Edward Essences Single Malt Whisky

As a heads up, I'm very new to distilling, but an old hat at drinking Single Malt Whiskey. There is prob a better way to do this.. I will get there in the end.
I have tried 2 other essences, but they had a shocking before and after taste.
On my last wheetbix and allbran wash, I added a bag of Beer malt sugar from my local super market as suggested by a few of the guys here. This was Gen 3.
I normally double distill but on this run, pulled 2 litres of heads that closest resembled Irish Whiskey on the first run.
I'm running a Pure Distill reflux and the tap was on the fast flow.
I dropped it into 2 jars, added smoked oak chips. 4 blocks to each jar. ( The ones that came with the pure distill kit) Then split the bottle of Edward Essences Single Malt Whisky between each jar.
I basically halved the recommended amount.
I tested a small amount after only a week and it is really very good. It's at 98% so added 50% bottle spring water.
If your after a Scotch that is close enough to Jameson, this is the best I've come up with to date. And it is really very good.
