They say mullberry wood is good.
You can soak the first run on some of the pulp if you still have some and run it again.

Yeah I gagged a bit when I was squeezing juice out, it's hard to believe that you can get something that tastes good out of that mess.

The squeezing and filtering is an absolute pain in the butt - the apricots were a nightmare.

I can't wait until one of you smart fellas comes up with a better method for me than flywire strainers and bedsheets

A fruit press and only ferment the juice :handgestures-thumbupleft: I reckon this will be my medium term plan

Plum Brandy

Would a press work on these soft fruits? Apricots and plums would be more pulp than juice?

my wine making book reckons for cots juice is the go, but for plums juicing is impractical and pulp is the only realistic alternative. :-B

never tried plums in my press, so i wouldn't know.

How about putting this god awefull mess into a hand cranked honey extractor after wrapping it all in towels or linen/ muslin bags??? Ive seen them for sale at swap meets and flea markets for $50 -$60. Like a hand cranked centrifuge.

Well just been distress aging a bit of this to get an idea if its worth it or just cut it and bottle, yep its worth it some anyway Maybe 1/2 will be plum brandy aged in oak and 1/2 will be left as plum schnapps :handgestures-thumbupleft:
