Vinegar runs on new 5 star gear

Got a mate who's ordered a 4 inch neutralizes, and we are just working out logistics. Do I need to do a vinegar run and sac run on brand new stainless kit from 5 star? Or just a sac run?

I think vinegar run still needed. Have heard some wash in soapy water. Not sure I would want dish soap anywhere near my still if you use it be anal with flushing the soap off. In a solvent a couple drops soap will ruin your whole day :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I recall Mac saying it shouldn't be necessary but a vinegar run won't hurt, it'll make sure any left over nasties from the manufacturing process are safely removed and give you a good opportunity to test for any seals that don't seal etc.

You will want to give the copper mesh (if you're using it) a jolly good clean first otherwise you will end up with oil in your output and your boiler.

Cheers,
Prof. Green.

Yeah. We'll probably do it anyway, but I thought it seen a post where mac said it wasn't necessary. Can't find it now.
