The Original Mac 4

So here's a blast from the past.
The original Mac4 lovingly hand crafted with much blood and swearing by Mr Mac himself.
Allan built this lovely piece many moons ago for a family member who has loved it throughout the years but.....
She's been knocked around a little and has been replaced by a modern job and so she has been donated to be displayed in our new showroom once all the work is finished.
Should I give her a polish? or leave her tarnished and weather beaten?
You really are a craftsman Allan
Let me know your thought guys and gals
Cheers
Andrew

She's got charm - If she's headed for a showroom, I reckon polish her up, align the triclamps and put her on display :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Wow, that’s an awesome piece of history :handgestures-thumbupleft:
I reckon she deserves a clean up and clear coat then put in a special display box/ cabinet :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Keep it raw looking otherwise you will be competing with the nice s/s stuff. Unpolished will make it stand out

Good question, I would leave it as is, it has more of an antique appearance and sort of be the historic show piece for 5Star stills. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Keep it as if, it'll just tarnish anyway

But not if clear coated, it will stay nice and shiny but I do like a patina. ;-)

I think if was displayed right it would look great the way it is and shows the progression from the start to what we can get now. :-B

I say leave her as she sit's, shows how a well made bit of gear can be well used and used well.

I agree, why change the patina of a piece of industrial art
