EOI weldless elements

I have successfully negotiated a new style of weldless element with my supplier at reasonable prices, but first before I leap in and buy the minimum quantity of 50 I will need to see if this is a viable option.

They are very much like the keg king ones in appearance except they will not come with the cord and plug supplied, they will also require a 1" BSP backing nut to secure it to the boiler.

The specs are

Material of pipe: SUS304; SS material 1” BSP thread.

Pipe Dia 19mmX 250MM(Total length).

Power: 240V/2400W.

I do not have pics yet as it's a custom design, i've asked for a pic of a similar item and will post it as soon as I can, but the element is a SS rod very similar to the keg king model but in no way are they of the same poor quality as them

I've been assured these will be as good or better than the elements I have been selling, and there's a 12 month warranty on defects for these.

The price will be $50 each.

Well it will be useless without one, it'll need something to hold it in place 8-}

Nar, I've got a new DIY guard design in mind that will incorporate a brass flanged backing nut to hold everything in place. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Sounds good will these replace the elements that need sockets? Or are you still getting in a supply of those?

just got a little design tweak to make and it should be all good to go in a couple of weeks.

I don't want to fill up this thread with "I'll have a couple as well", but it seems like these will generate a lot of interest Mac, and I think your first 50 will be out the door the day you get them.

Personally, I've gone to the welded sockets for my boiler, but would like to make use of my old boiler by replacing the Keg King elements in it and use as a hot liquor tank. I wonder if I'll be able to use the same 32mm holes, it's sure sounding that way :dance:

Yeah Brendan that's what I'm aiming for as I know a lot of people have the keg king ones, 1" BSP male thread fits a 32mm hole so it will work out well :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Just checking in to see how these are coming along?

And to ask a question about the installation. I've had experience installing a weldless ballvalve in to a keg before, and that was easy enough, but with these elements, another question comes up. Will they be able to be installed by just drilling the hole and tightening a nut from the outside or will they need a nut on the inside as well? Presumably it's the latter option. Which would mean needing access to the inside of the keg :(

Unless of course you have already thought of this? :D

The usual deal with weldless elements mate, is you drill the hole and then feed the element in through the top of the keg, pulling the power cable out through the hole. A metal rim and silicone seal will press against the inside wall of the keg, with thread protruding through the hole, which you secure with a nut externally to hold it tight against the wall of the keg :handgestures-thumbupleft:
