I also have perforated plates being made that should be available in around 2 weeks, the new plates will be available as an option for all the FSD Mac rigs instead of the new bubble cap plates that will be available around the same time. The perf plates will be a fair bit cheaper and will lower a still price significantly if you should choose them over the caps :D

FSD News & Updates

Postby Dominator » Sat May 25, 2013 5:18 pm

That's the way, you keep bringing the price of your bubblers down and I may just be buying one later this year.

Slightly off topic, I know you do single runs for rum/bourbon, but when you do a neutral run through a 4 plate bubbler do you strip it first or just single run with a packed section?

Single runs through the packed section works quite well :handgestures-thumbupleft:

The prices arent really coming down, I'm just trying to offer options for those who would like to get into one of these rigs :D

Love the look of the screw type sight glass / fill port very tidy .

The elimination of some triclamps is a great look in my book.

OD of the plate is 105mm to fit the modular system, so no they wont fit as a slide in plate ;-)

I do like tri clamps but these SSG's are pretty slick, it's all about options.... everyone loves options :handgestures-thumbupleft:

With the ssg's how tight do you recomend when fitting? Just over finger tight or fairly firm Cheers. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I think options are fantastic! It gives some choice to the buyer, they can still get that bubbler they always wanted by going for some cheaper options or they can go all out on the deluxe version. That is what I meant by bringing the price down, some options to reduce the initial cost. I think the way you are running FSD shows your about the customer not the profit :handgestures-thumbupleft: and that is getting rare these days.

I can confirm this, hand tight will seal them easily without any thread tape.

Given a standard 4 plate 4" FSD bubbler and you have a 50 Ltr boiler with two 2400 watt elements how many watts do you estimate to use during run ?

After getting to the boil And have a controller

Cheers :handgestures-thumbupleft: :handgestures-thumbupleft:

The bubble cap plates in the Mac 4 will run quite comfortably on 2400w with no controller needed :D

Hi mate I used t use a controller and 2200 to 2400 is the best for my FSD

So now I just leave on 1 element and run at 2400.

Cheers
