Here's the new FSD element guards I'll be keeping in stock, they can be used with any element that has a 1" BSP thread or even the weldless style element if that's your preference.

The kit includes 1 x 2400w element, and 1 element guard (complete) with earth connection point, clamps, seals, cable connectors & a cable gland.

These are sold as is and with the understanding you will use a qualified electrician to wire it up.

The price for the whole kit is $100 or you can purchase either the element for or guard separately for $50 each, postage is $15 for express post anywhere in Australia & you can fit 2 complete kits in the 3kg express satchel.

Cheers,

Mac.

They just go through the keg into the wash, I've been running some pretty thick pulp type wash recently and have no issues with scorching.... thinner watery type wash's are fine :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Ok thanks, got two 50 ltr kegs from f<ckedbook,.so want to do this as I've outgrown my 30 ltr boiler, what about the threaded part?this comes with it I'd imagine?how do you run it with these elements?do you just turn it on?etc etc! :D
Srry man,do you use two or just one element?how much power do they use?also how long does it usually take to get to temp?could I put my condenser on the 50 ltr keg with so sort of adapter thing?cheers mate,I'm good at fishing, ask me anything about that :handgestures-thumbupleft: thankyou again.

Yes the kit comes with the threaded part. All you need to do is drill a hole in the keg and weld the supplied ferrule to the keg.
You will need and electrician to wire it up as they do not come with a power cord or plug.
Yes, you just plug them in to the power point and turn them on. You can also build your self a 'voltage controller'. If you so a search, you can find plans on the forum.
One element is enough for a 50L keg. A lot of people fit two elements. This means you can get your wash to boil faster. If your stripping your wash you continue to run on two elements, if your condenser can handle it. If your doing a spirit run, you turn one of the elements off.
The elements are 2400W, so they use 2.4kW hours per hour, when run flat out.
How long it takes depends on how much wash you have in the boiler. My keg takes about 30 mins to get a 30L charge to boil. That is with two elements. If you only had one element I guess it would take about an hour. If you insulate your keg/boiler it will reduce your heating times.
What type of still do you have? I am sure you could make some kind of adapter.
