Silver @ San Fran for 5 star

Postby the Doctor » Mon Mar 23, 2015 9:55 am

It is with considerable pride that I just recieved notice from the judging panel at the San Francisco world spirits competition, that Dobson's Gin was just awarded a silver medal.... For those who do not know, Dobson's gin is made using the very best distilling technology ... a 5 star Carter head still. This award is added to the bronze in Melbourne two weeks ago and the selection as Australia's best G& T as voted in Gourmet Traveller. Lyn and I would like to thank Mac & Ms Mac and the forum members for all the support.

Mac I am sure this is just the beginning for spirits made on 5 Star stills winning awards. I have worked on many stills ...but this was made possible because of the quality of spirit that the still and it's Carter Head can produce. I have no doubt about that...you too should be so proud.

Great achivement. Top notch equpment makes a huge difference but knowing what to do with it and the innovation to push the boundaries is what wins awards.

Congrats Doc.

5 Star gear is on my list to upgrade from my homebuilt 7 plater. Wish I could get it into the country without having to worry about customs

I really need to order a couple of your bottles one of these days. You ship to Canada?

Congrats to you Doc and to Mac.
The concept of a small Carter Head for home distillers is a fantastic one.
Shows just how far it can be pushed.

I'm sure there is more to come.
