It'll be fine mate if no air can get to it, as long as it's sealed it'll last months :handgestures-thumbupleft:

The only thing to worry about is keeping the airlock full.

Hi Mcstill. Once the wash has finished fermenting do you still need to have an airlock. What I'm trying to say is if you fermented in a 50lt beer keg and after it is done fermenting could you put the valve stem back in and seal it or does it still need to breathe. Cheers. Haven't been here long but its a great site.

Sealed would be best if you intend keeping the wash for a longish period of time, having said that you'd have to be sure it was fully fermented first if its in a beer keg, it could build a bit of pressure otherwise.

Yeah I'd keep the airlock, you'll have an undisturbed layer of co2 that keeps out any oxygen eating microbes.

I've left washes for nearly 2 months with no molds or fungus or ill effects.

Yeah just keep oxygen out and it will be fine, as long as your air lock dont dry out there's not a lot to worry about :handgestures-thumbupleft:
