I just noticed that the model number of your unit indicates it is reverse acting  Maybe you cant change it??

By that, do you mean changing the SL6 setting from heating to cooling?

If you had it set to heating, then yeah try changing it to cooling...

Try these settings. I only use Sestos PID controllers and never have any trouble. I checked these settings compared to what I normally use. I couldn't find what the SL8,SL9,SL10,SL11 settings were in any manuals so I cant help with those. I know setting SL10 has to do with run/stop/start of the controller. If this fails set your Integral and Derivative settings to 0. This turns the controller into a straight proportional output, see what happens.

That part number is a hangover from the early days when you had to order the unit as either direct or reverse acting. Thankfully all units are now capable of either via SL6 but wish they would fix up their fucking part numbers. Very confusing.

Sestos are pretty easy to set up. I have been using them for years and have never had any trouble.

SL10 Bit 1 controls the STOP mode and bit 4 controls Self Tune mode.

e.g. SL10
0000 = Self tune disabled, stop mode disabled
0001 = self tune disabled, stop mode normal
1000 = self tune active, stop mode disabled

SL10 SET 1000

For heating you probably wont have to change anything. It should just about work perfectly straight out of the box. You may only have to change the control period from 4 to about 2 if you have a large element.

mmmmm. Fucking Chinese knock offs. Try these. Also make sure the Lbd is set to 0. Let the unit run for a bout 10-15 minutes to, this will allow the auto tune to kick in. Did you try the I and D settings back to zero?

SL1 is set to 0 coz I have a K type tc. I is set to 60 and D is set to 15.... I will change them now.

Sorry Lbd is only in the genuine RKC controller, not the Chinese knock off.

Well I found a brand new Chinese knockoff in my shed, wired in the TC, connected the SSR and powered it up and it works straight out of the box. Now Im thinking, is the one you have a true SSR output or a modified relay one?
