Awesome thanks I2, that's what i was hoping.. Sorry more questions now
Does this mean i can run an 3600 element?
Is 3600 to powerful to run on a 2" Boka without a controller?
If so would a 2400 and a 3600 work for heat up and then turn off the 3600 and run with the 2400.
Thanks i am totally out of my depth with this stuff

Ok i think I'm picking up what you're putting down, ha ha
So to air on the side of caution think i'll stick to a max of a couple of 2400 (on different circuits)
Appreciate the input!

Unless you have a 15A outlet already installed then im guessing no you cant run a 3600W element...

Cheers Punchy, doubt I do, I had the fuse box replaced a while back but the wiring is still a bit old school.

Do you brew near you switchboard?
If you do you can get a din rail 15a outlet that mounts next to those switches. They are about $60 plus 20cm of wire and prob 1hr max labor for a sparky to do his magic

Sorry 12, but 10 Amp circuits run 16A breakers. Oven and lights on their own circuits as labelled, and the rest are breakers for 10A outlet circuits.

Volts divided by power equals amps so 240v/3600w equals 16.67Amps on a 20A circuit.

Wrong. 3600W @ 240V is 15A. 240 x 15 = 3600.

My bad, the calculation had a power factor correction of .9 to allow for the inductive load

That'll do it every time - the two 5 Star elements I've got are purely resistive - PF measures 1.0
