Looks the goods mate :handgestures-thumbupleft:

On a side note, use oak dominoes for the 3 month stuff. Keep your barrel for 12+ month ageing ;-)

Yeah your right, chances are it will happen again.

Might have to go SSR type, the way I want to go is use the type that is triggered by voltage rather than resistance.

By using a PWM to regulate the voltage to the SSR.

The resistance type tend to work at one end of the pot and are not linear.

rum that controller you saw at my place worked an absolute treat. I need an addition of a fan still on my unit but even with just having the lid slightly open to air the heatsink did a great job of disipating, the box remained relatively cool. and the controller is grossly overrated for our setups at 10kw and 80a so you can upgrade your elements as much as you like. my only fear is the controller is button driven so a lot of clicking to get the % you want I think overtime that will be the weak spot. but it's plug and play so easy to replace.

Is that a plastic or metal box also is the switch inside just a circuit breaker or is it an earth leakage? I was also wondering what the approx size of that enclosure cheers

The digital volt/ amp meters only fail when given a chopped wave.. Eg if you run them after the controller.
If you run it before it will give you the available volts ( will vary daily) and the amp you are drawing. ( varies with controller)
Volt * amps = watts. so ypu still know whats going on.
The units arnt designed for a chopped wave but work great wired in as designed
