Recommendations for an Electrician in SA (northern suburbs)

Postby vqstatesman » Wed Aug 03, 2016 8:01 pm

Hi All,

I need to have a couple of 15 amp double power points installed into my garage in prep for my new boiler setup. Looking to have this setup on its own new circuit.

Any sparkies on here from SA? Or does anyone have any recommendations?

Cool. PM your mobile for future reference. I'm in the north east.
Cheers.

Thanks for the reply. Got the job done a week or so after posting this.

For reference I paid a bit over $1,000 to have a new circuit with 3 seperate 15 amp outlets put in. Brick veneer house. Outlets approx 7 meters from the existing meter box.

And yes I use all 45 amps during heat up :)

:handgestures-thumbupleft:

If you use the full 45 amps my only suggestion would be to have a circuit breaker as your main switch (you might have this already). Saves a call out to SAPN for a fuse replacement if you've got that on, along with HWS/oven/dishwasher etc. Remote chance of it occurring but I guarantee when it does, it will be half way through and at night time!

Yeah it has a circuit breaker.

I tend to only run it when I know the power requirement of the rest of the house are at minimum eg no oven or AC on. Otherwise I would be maxing out my domestic single phase supply :(

Sensible idea. The only time I ever get a call about someone having no power is when I'm in PJ's haha.
