Ive just finished a vinegar run and well theres good and theres bad news i found a leak easy fix and the good news is it works so does the leibig
works well uses more water than my reflux so ill have to build a water cooler system for it

It should condense alcohol easier than your vinegar run :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Just cover your elements by an inch or so then add the goon bag :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Nice looking build there Ben and it perform nicely for you too mate, with some luck(with Aussie post one needs it) those chips should be there this week in time for first run. Anyway with my 2" pot still I have several scrubbers in all tied up with 1.6mm de-enamelled copper wire and aint tasted no sulphides out so far :teasing-tease: Anyway on the spirit run on my UJ I do 88% for the hearts run so although the pundits will say a pot is no fuckin good for neutrals try a few scrubbers in to get some reflux happening and it aint enough to strip any flavour off UJ so I do think it work for TPW as I will be doing some thru mine in the coming week. I am thinking of putting the keg on my elcheapo burner and eh it might take 2 cans to heat up and 2-3 thru the run but at less than a buck a pop it is cheap gas.....

Without a reflux condenser above your packing it isn't going to do anything to scrub flavour, the only advantage is copper packing in a stainless column to remove the sulphides ;-)

I know mate saw that, and you can't go wrong with the 5Star elements.

I am shocked at how long the KK element didn't last.

Ideally you want a voltage controller. With out the control, you can't "properly" run/control a pot still. Too fast, smears all your cuts, too slow, not enough flavour comes through...however your asking about stripping runs = hard and fast, so you might be good to go.
But in saying that, I run gas, so the sparky users might have more to tell.

Running too slow on a pot won't lose flavour but it has been said by a few that it can make the spirit harsher, you really want to run in the sweet spot. I would give it a crack with what you have and see how it goes :handgestures-thumbupleft:

If you can get a thin stream out the end you will be doing alright ;-)

I just had a voltage controler made up for one of the lads at work to run a pot on his t500 we set it up to run flat out 2000 watt and 1380 watt
