My first build

Morning gents,

I splurged at my recent trip to the plumbing shop. In an attempt to recreate the pelican design I have seen here, I bought myself a 45 degree elbow, 2 90 degree elbows, 1 metre of 2" pipe and reducers down to 3/4". I have yet to procure a boiler, but I have a 50lt pot that I use as a hot liquor tank, that is looking mighty attractive.
Can a standard pot with a loose fitting lid be sealed properly for a boiler? I didn't bother with the cooling sleeve, as I was going to coil up the 3/4" and put it through a cooling bucket.
Any design help will be much appreciated.

Cheers

Ya really cannot go past a 10 or 18gal beer keg ,with my preference on the later,as the extra head space is needed for rum and grain washes wich can foam up a fair bit .cheers hillzabilly :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Definitely go a keg boiler mate.

Any reason why you're not going for a more conventional condenser?

I already have a length of 3/4" pipe I was using as a wort chiller. I didn't want to spend any more money on reducers and fittings, as my local pluming shop is expensive ($135 for the 2" parts)

If members would only put there rough location it would often help
I see people asking for things and no location
I also sometimes have spare things that I would gladly donate to help somebody :handgestures-thumbupleft:

EDIT

There you go I just looked and I haven't put my location in

Guess we're neighbours then Aussiedownunder01. I can count the rivets on the undercarriage as they go over...
