Hey guys/gals,
Just thought I'd post a few pics of my 2" build with shotgun.
I will be adding a 4" sight glass to the keg soon when 5SD has them in stock :handgestures-thumbupleft:
Been a bit of a pain sealing the ends of the shot gun mainly because the holes in the end plates were pretty ordinary.
Anyhoo its now all air tight now.
Oh also made a parrot. :happy-partydance:
Well there you go, let me know what you think? I've never done this before so if I've missed anything obvious please let me know.
Thanks.

Only thing I can think of is have the cooling lines coming in from underneath, not above. No kinkage of cooling hoses that way.

Not real keen on them safety boots, you need to upgrade to some safety thongs like the rest of us. :laughing-rolling: Good work you'll be sipping some good gear in no time. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

I brought a cheap submersible pond pump from bunnings seems to do an ok job so far.

Yeah pretty happy!
Got a TPW ready to rock and roll for the sac run hopefully in the next day or 2.
And my BWKO is on about day 4 fermenting and starting to slow down so that shouldnt be to far off.
Even the missus is excited. :teasing-nutkick:
Cheers

That's a really nice pot still pingu. You should get some great product out if it.

Cheers,

Ok so done the TPW and My fist gen BWKO all went fairly good. The only real issues was it took a couple of hours to get to the boil. Will have to invest in a high pressure lpg regulator I guess...
Was stripping at about 4Lt per hour does that seem about right?
Also I dont think my 44 gal drum of cooling water is sufficient.
2ng Gen now happily bubbling away.

Cheers

I have a turbo boiler 2000w takes 50mins to heat. I can do 3 strips and a spirit run in summer with a 200l drum water. Water temp 38ish.

Not sure about gas my balls are not big enough to use it :laughing-rolling:

In my pot still with keg boiler I can do a striping run at around 41/2 litres an hour with a 2200 watt element and it takes about 1hour and ten minutes to get 40 litres of wash or low wines to the boil. With my power controller I run it at around a litre an hour mabey a touch more for a spirit run.
I use 1000 litre pod for my cooling water, works well barely any noticeable rise in temp during a long spirit run.

Were you running outside? Perhaps insulation on the boiler and a wind guard for the burner will help reduce heat up time :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Thanks guys, yeah running outside will cut a 44 gal drum down to keep the heat in.
Cheers. :handgestures-thumbupleft:
