Pot still speed?

Hi peoples.
I've been struggling to get any corn flavour from my bubbler no matter how few plates or how fast I run and when I do get flavour its all smeared to buggery. For that reason I'm going to be doing about 25 liters of bwko strip, which still needs watering down to 40%, 'old skool' through a simple pot setup. The strip started as individual differently run bubbler runs that were put into jars and tested but didn't pass muster so were returned in entirety (minus fores) back into a big demijohn to be spirit run.
What speed do you guys recommend taking the spirit off for this venture?
Reading I can see some reccomend about 1 liter a minute which means its probably going to take a couple of days to complete.
Which is fine as I have some brewing and bottling I can do while its running in close proximity.
Just looking for some opinions before I fire it up.
I'll add that there is plenty of flavour in the strip.
Cheers,
Warra

As I do and others recommend when pot stilling wind down till broken stream then slowly work it back up till a solid stream again. takes me about 3.5hrs to spirit run 25l low wines at 40% but I only collect till I taste tails around 70% have you tried running the deplem hotter on bubbler and collecting round 80-85%?

Tried 4 plates and inline, 4 plates, 4 plates and fast (3.5 l/h but cant remember the abv) takeoff, 3 plates fast and slow and now just going to try a pot run with all the rejects. Oh, and just an inline like a traditional thumper but think I went too fast and it was all smeared.
I'll have another crack with the plater later but for now will try to get this lot sorted.
Cheers.

I'll give the slow and steady method a crack I reckon. As for gen's I dunno. Probably 5 or 6.

I'd think ur inline "thumper" would really be a big bubble plate that's stripping flavour outa ur wash. Maybe try with only 1 or 2 plates with it

For my 25lt boiler and 900 or 1000wt element no controller and a 14inch 3/4 over 1/2iinch leiburg condencer, worked well with me collecting between 2-21/2lt per hour.cheers hillzabilly ;-)

I've got a 30 liter boiler with 2000 watt element I'll use on a controller. Slow and steady wins out I guess.
Its been a while since I've done a true pot spirit run.

How long are you leaving it on oak Warra?
I can't taste any corn straight off the still, I find it needs the time on oak.

I agree oak makes it true bourbon but only on the very first run I had some nice 'white dog'. Sweetness from the corn that could definitely be tasted. I ruined that batch by putting too much tails in. Everything else I've made since just tastes like neutral. Tried oaking some but reran it it in the end as it just tasted like oaked neutral.
I'm going back to the roots to try and get that flavour back.

warra, as u say, slow is good. I just finished a spirit run off the strip on my pot day before yesterday. Mind u it was a Pear mash and the flav was surprisingly evident, not blow u away, but obvious. I cant get any real corn from my CFW's and just let the oak do the work. But my spirit run was painfully slow, nowhere near as fast as a stream, just lots of drops not joining up. It all came off at about 85% ABV.

Close to a bwko recipe mate.
I'll be running the strip in a few days. See how it goes as its the last I'll be doing for a while.

Warramungas.... how did you go with this? Manage to get some flavour through that you liked?

I've got some 'white dog' as it seems close to the flavour of the commercial 'ole smokey'.
Now I'm trying to get it to oak without tasting nasty. Not too much luck so far. But I'll persist. Its like bourbon but not as full flavoured. More woody.
This was a strip of 50 liters run through 3 plates carefully.
