completely un related to this post but im looking at building a 4 inch column that reduces beck to 2 inch to run a thumper is there any down side to reducing

If it's completely unrelated then just make a new thread.

But no, starting with a 2" the going to 4" won't matter.
Vapour will speed up through the 2" but slow back down once it gets into the 4"
You may cause a bit of back pressure but nothing dangerous unless your thumper blocks up
