It has been said on some forums (of far less repute than this quality social experiment) that "it is all B.S. without pics". However, I like others would not lower this very fine forum to such levels by making such comments.

I've had this feeling before. Bought her dinner, piad for the movie, got nothing.

Read the whole post, kept scrolling, got nothing.

Not even a sketch.

C'mon bloke, you can do it! I know you can!

Just a teeni-weeny one will do.

Joiner is optional, keg mount could be easy flange but this one is a Mile High adapter i had hanging around...nice SS mount with proper O ring seal...from a another Boka I'll never build ...fuck Boka's are slow.....as i said a pot with a coil it's as simple as that.

It is...

One of my mates who regularly gets my bourbon was/is a specialist welder for high pressure underwater and one off high quality tig/mig whatever stuff. Naturally he's F'ing exco at soldering braising etc.

To give you an example...you know those black flecks about .2mm - .3mm you get in soft soldering...he don't...

His soldering is .5mm perfect no flux staining, no over runs, no varying thicknesses 24 x7 all day long...bastard!

he just laughs at my work

Mate, with my builds, they took more time to clean up than solder

If l might make a comment on soldering for the blokes doing an ok job not an outstanding job, dont beat yourself up with time and practice your soldering will come of age and once it does you have to at it to keep it to bloody good standard...as l said in other posts l was once a structural welder.

l have literally thousands of hours behind the arc...now... well l can weld and braze however when its critical... structural l practice practice and practice before l touch my job that has to be spot on.

Nice job bud before you know it you will run solder any which way you want. When your buddy solders jump on his shoulder and watch his technique even go as far as video him using your phone camera then you can use it as a reference also theres heap of vids on youtube showing you how to do just about everything you can think of, it's turning into a good reference tool for how to do whatever which is very well demonstrated by EG's how to run a plated still series. :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Ok heres a thought I was having.
Making a pot for a mate.
He wants to make whiskey but would like to try and make a neutral.
I was wondering, how well would this idea work,
Would need three tri clamps.
Going for increased reflux,
but can run in pure pot mode??

Cheers

Rae

Shit I hope it works dude, them there are blueprints for a lamb cannon. :D

All triclamp-y and modular-like. :romance-adore:

Don't think it'll crack a decent neutral in a single run but I bet it'll punch out a nice, light whiskey.

Have fun!

It would work..lot of effort compared to just to turning off the water flow to the coil and running in pot mode but.

No coolant flow, reduced reflux= slightly faster output rate. In real life a trickle of coolant flow will add 10+ abv pts at no noticable output rate change.

Still use my pair both ways ...no dramas

ah yes but I can see a bit of a plus with this for say a citric acid clean up bath or any other reason you might want to get to the condenser or packing and with this reflux condenser removed its not getting gunked up in some messy pot run
(read rum wash) :laughing-rolling:
