Stripping Cuts

Postby bennybackyard » Fri Sep 21, 2012 9:09 pm

Hi all,

What do you all do in relation to foreshots when stripping?

What I mean is that if I strip 50lts of wash and discard 200ml then what amount do you discard on the spirit run? Or Do you not chuck anything and just calculate the amount to chuck per **lts of wash during the spirit run?

Thanks for any assistance

Ben

I take fores on stripping runs and on spirit runs, some do it only on their spirit runs.... 100mls fores to every 25L of wash is pretty safe ;-)

Sounds like your doing your honeymoon run :laughing-rolling:

I chuck about 50mls in a strip run and no other cuts, some don't even do that. As for your spirit run you will need to do your cuts as usual anyway and you will need to chuck out the fores of cause EDIT posted the same time as McStill :))

I don't want the nasty bastards in my brew and throw plenty.. like 250ml+ on a 50lt run.

OD once said to me you've got plenty don't be tight arsed about it....allways served me well this.

I'll leave exploring the hangover limits to those younger and more "frugal" than myself.
