It would work more efficiently if it had a boiler under it :))

the water coming out would of been prob 30 deg at a guess. the liebig was cold all the way up and could hold the hand at the top. barley had the water flowing threw it only just cracked the tap so thats good but still filled 32lt bin up in 25mins

yeah it was foaming up in the pot a bit so that prob be why. Just hope the striping run is a bit faster. Yeah what is a good heat output in a stripping?

Also do you just run the burners flat out? will the water boil off to much if its hot or will the alcohol still go threw first?

I know the condenser has to keep up with it but just wonder if you can run it to fast

For a stripping run, run as fast as your condenser will let you :handgestures-thumbupleft:

alright maiden run done :D thought that I wouldnt get time before xmas :)) Everything went well I think, got about 7lts out of it so not sure if thats any and good and the still is stripping at about 7lts a hour as from first drop to shut off was 1hr 10mins and only 25mins to get to first drop. I am pretty pleased with that I think.

The still didnt leak or blow apart ether so there is another bonus and the gas didnt run out I was doubting it at the start :)) any way I love to look at pics so here is the first runnings

What sort of regulator (if any) do you use on your 3 ring burner?

:handgestures-thumbupleft: I was really hating the bbq regulator on my 3 ring burner, I knew there had to be a better way.

you get get adjustable HP regs cheaper but I wanted something reliable and with a gauge. Mine is set to 25kpa when the gas is off and that will run 2 burners no worries. You could drill out the holes in the 3 ring to get more out of it but on 3/4 on all rings its wasting gas as it wicks up the sides of the pot so its a waste.

If you have a keg they will heat better as they have the ring on the bottom to confine the heat in that area. I just got 3 bricks and sit the pot on that find it just about right for the 3 ring. I do have steel there cut to make a burner stand but havnt got anyone to weld it yet. Dad comes down in few weeks so will borrow a welder and get it done then :D

Edit: oh the gauge is good as daughter likes to turn the knob on it when she gets in the shed many times I open the gas bottle to find it out
