Yeah I read that thread a while back... looks a bit scary  I've only got a cheapo arc welder reckon that would do it?

Thanks for the input everyone :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Cheers

yes arc welder is fine and these things will really strip but you will need to get a high pressure regulator. I do my spirit runs and dirtier washes with a $15 cast iron camp burner and a HP reg ;-)

Did my dwwg spirit run last night. As soon as the fores howstarted to drip I turned the burner down to half and I got the fabled pencil lead stream that I've been reading about  . It was coming out like syrup! I was so happy I could have hugged my new baby if she wasn't so hot :)) . Chucked the first 100 then collected about a few jars of about 200 then then the next 400 was liquid gold. It smelled absolutely delicious, really butterscotchy, mmmmmmm, without a hint of heads or tails on the nose at about 85 abv. I then smelt a hint of tails so switch tne collecting vessel and monitored every 100 it stayed well over 80 abv for ages I made another cut when it got down to 79 and I thought well the rest is tails but I tasted again at mid 70s and it still had some good flavours. Not sure how much I got in the end but its all airing in the shed now will sample the different cuts this arvo.
I'm very happy :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Cheers
