Hey lads
I have 5 or 6 photos for you but the forum says they're too big 1MB max, should have taken them on my iPad as usual but it was during a run so my partner took them with her camera bad move. I'll try to get them downsized or whatever or you'll have to wait for the next run Saturday sorry.
Mac when my mother stood there doing that foot tapping shit, meant I was about to get a flogging with a wooden spoon.

or as I do on my windows machine.

right click on the image > open with > paint > resize > pixels > (800 pixels on the longest side is nice aize for the forum) > click ok > close & save..... only takes around 15 seconds once you get the knack of it, then upload straight into your post :handgestures-thumbupleft:

When I opened up the copper hot water tank I brought to build the tapers out of I found this, may hook it up to the tail end of the Liebig as a secondary during summer. Maybe in a hex fish tank.

With a worm that big, you shouldn't need the Leibig as well... Give it an acid bath and see how clean it comes up :)

Zak the leibig has always been about getting the alcohol away from the gas burner. :scared-eek:
Mac you're now starting to sound like my dear old mum. :laughing-rolling:
SBB the burner now runs a treat,halved the boil time, more than doubled the take off rate with the same amount of gas and the bottom of the boiler is a bright metallic blue colour. :happy-partydance:
Like I said its a simple yet effective system just as well, there is SO MUCH to learn in this fascinating hobby. EVERYONE without your help, even answering the same old questions got me thru this far.Will certainly continue to lean on all the generous member in the future. I'm sure I'll say it again Good people Great site.

You must use it ....by all means have a section of 3/4 " or whatever to keep a save distance from the gas

Yes a perspex ( because its easy to get the output through it rather than glass) hex fishtank would be perfection

Hey Yummyrum sorry when I got the tank it had already been removed from the insulated shell, it was just a bare copper tank with no branding at all, I considered cutting off the top and bottom and the 1 vertical seam and reconstruct it into a 150L boiler but it was too thin. The coil is a 3/8" copper 20 coils x 330mm Dia.

Mate, absolutely brilliant job!

It looks like the closest version you could get at home of the big copper pot stills in many distilleries around the world.

Don't be concerned with your boil ball/onion head...it doesn't need to be round and smooth curving, it's just a space of lower pressure where the rising vapour condenses partially, will work fine :handgestures-thumbupleft:

Much like the others, I think a big worm is all I can picture to match the style and exceptional build, loving Mac's idea too! :clap:

Thanks for the positive comments i have also viewed your bubbler build with admiration, way too many hand skills for me, prefer my machine tools any day. Take a look at this. I'd love to put a glasser build next to Penny similar to the still here. What do you recon? I might have a crack if I knew exactly how it works. Can anyone explain the return system? Correct me if I'm wrong I think the rest of the bubbler would be pretty much the norm except the retractable bubble caps but I'm sure they would be optional although they are very cool. Mods feel free to move this post to somewhere more appropriate if necessary.
