Got myself a 9l water fire extinguisher that i thought would make a good thumper. I had to cut off the the original socket, as it was unknown thread and size. I hard soldered on a stainless 1" socket.

Got a piece of 3/4 copper going through the guts of a 3/4, 3/4, 1" tee, with some holes drilled into the bottom to let the vapour out at the bottom of the thumper.

Thinking of having a crack at a shotgun condenser, or should i stick with the Liebig?

If ya keen go with a shotgun with easy flanges so it can be used on other builds down the track.

Hi Big Driz.
Nice work.
What size is your primary boiler ?
Generally thumpers are 1/3 to half the boiler capacity to prevent flooding.
Having it mounted to the boiler will aid in heat up - which will reduce condensation to some degree. Eg produce distillate faster which may help prevent flooding. However i would be very cautious priming the thumper with any significant volume.
